SpinArt is a fun app for all ages.
Even people with no creative ability whatsoever can make some pretty neat abstract splatter pieces of art. And that’s “neat” in more than just the fun and interesting sense of the word. The $1.99 app allows you uninhibited throwing, swirling, splattering color without the actual mess.
And the application works off-line, so it can be enjoyed just about anywhere. Swipe your fingers to set the canvas in motion, choose a color and a brush (splatter) size and let your imagination run wild.
SpinArt is a little complicated to figure out at first, so it helps to take a minute to read the instructions to learn how the tools work, how to make the canvas spin and how to make it stop spinning.
After you get the hang of it, try using different brush thicknesses and play with holding down your finger for longer and shorter periods of time and at different places on the canvas. Also, try splattering the canvas before spinning it to create a unique background. Keep the canvas standing still and you can also use the application like traditional paint and use the brushes to write messages and draw pictures.
Your creations can be easily saved to the photo roll, e-mailed to a friend, or resumed later.
The one downside of SpinArt is there is no “undo” option. Your choice are limited to “Clear Background,” start a new canvas or just keep working around your mistake. Sometimes a single error is drastic enough to ruin your entire piece. But remember, there’s no cleaning up.
