Coffee Stain Studios’ factory-building game Satisfactory has seen a massive surge in popularity since its 1.0 launch on PC last week. The game, which has been in early access since 2019, reached an all-time high of 186,158 concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB data. “Before this week our highest CCU on Steam was 34K,” the official Satisfactory Twitter account shared.

“I can’t tell you how crazy this is to me. Thank you everyone!”

The 1.0 update adds new endgame content, including Tier 9 and Phase 5, where players can use Quantum Technology to ship goods off-planet via a space elevator. It also features the completion of the game’s Save The Day program and introduces new alien technology, such as portals for near-instant transportation and Dimensional Depots for efficient inventory management.

Satisfactory’s impressive player surge

Players can now customize their factories with new windows, fences, and paint finishes, as well as their uniforms, helmets, and build guns. The update also includes the introduction of achievements, spanning core milestones, exploration rewards, and even a few humorous memes.

Coffee Stain Studios has officially confirmed that a console version of Satisfactory is in development, though no specific release window has been shared. The game has amassed a dedicated community over its eight years of development, with over 5.5 million copies sold. The studio emphasizes that the 1.0 release does not mark the end of the game’s development but represents a significant milestone for both the development team and the community.

Satisfactory’s impressive launch and player engagement exemplify the thriving interest in simulation and management games, setting a notable benchmark in the genre.
