Scott Parris, an application developer from San Francisco, travels around the world constantly, taking photos and learning new technologies. He loves travel apps and just created a list of 7 Must-Have Travel iPhone Apps from a Digital Nomad.
1. Tell us about yourself.
I live in San Francisco and am an application developer with over 15 years of experience. In between (and during) my tech exploits I travel all around the world. Recently I’ve travelled to Lombok, Berlin, and Kampala. I’m now studying iPhone app development and look forward to creating some apps soon.
2. Which iOS device or devices do you own?
I own the iPhone 4. It’s great for taking travel photos when I don’t have my Nikon D700.
3. Is there a particular category of apps that interest you the most?
Travel apps of course!
4. What are your top apps and why?
FlightTrack Pro, GateGuru, KAYAK, Taxi Magic, AroundMe, Yelp, and AllSubway.
5. What apps are popular among your colleagues and friends?
Instagram, Facebook, foursquare, and Google+.
6. Give an example of a time an app was truly useful to you.
I needed to find a cheap fare home in the middle of the summer from Dusseldorf to San Francisco and I used KAYAK to find it quickly.
