Joining the ranks of artists like Nirvana, Metallica and Lady GaGa, Green Day now, too, has their own Tap Tap rhythm game for iPhone.
The launch of Green Day Revenge coincides with the release of Green Day’s new live CD and bonus DVD Awesome as F**k, which features some of the best performances from the band’s 2009-2010 21st Century Breakdown tour.
Part of Tapulous’ Tap Tap Revenge series, the game is essentially like Guitar Hero on your iPhone. The object of the game is to stay on the beat by tapping colored circle music notes that scroll down the screen.
Green Day Revenge features 10 tracks including several of the band’s more classic hits like Basket Case, Brain Stew and Good Riddance. There are also four tracks that can be unlocked as you play.
Players can send challenges to their friends and brag about high scores by instantly sharing on Facebook, Twitter and email.
Hard core fans of Green Day can keep up on the most up-to-date band news through the in-game Twitter feed or through corresponding with other fans in the game’s chat rooms.
Green Day Revenge is made for iPhone and iPod Touch runnining iOS 3.0 or above and is available in the App Store for $4.99.
