It’s hard to imagine the 10-question survey in DateMate actually leading to a date, unless of course you were bonding with your date on what a bad idea it was to try it in the first place.
DateMate sets you up with 10 simple (and at times) odd questions, and then asks your date to answer 10 of his or her own. From there your personalities are defined and your match percentage is revealed.
Questions range from hypothetical ones that you’d probably never ask on a first date (“You discuss the idea of moving in together, how do you react?”) to questions that border on the ridiculous (“Your dream car is…Porsche 911 or Volkswagen Beetle?”).
I understand the need to create these distinct answers to help DateMate more easily define your personality, but few people actually operate in such black and white terms. Some of the questions that the app poses won’t exactly get the most honest representation of your date’s personality.
On the plus side, it’s designed well enough that it’s quick and easy to get through the two sets of questions. The questions load quickly and your match percentage doesn’t take long to calculate.
