Open up EW’s Must List iPad app (free), and after waiting for content to download, you’re presented with a list of the 10 entertainment items most grabbing Entertainment Weekly’s attention this week.
Choose one (say, the 150th Family Guy episode) and you’ll get links to view a trailer, download Family Guy episodes from iTunes, or watch some clips of Brian and Stewie together (on the in-app YouTube player).
With a tap, EW’s “Must List” lets you add items of interest to your own Must List for later viewing or reading. Content on the EW Must List is refreshed weekly, and you can scroll back to view previous weeks.
Aside from the main “Must List,” there are also category pages (“Movies,” “TV,” “Music,” “Books,” “Games & Apps,” and “Etc.”) that list EW’s current favorites. Tap on a book that looks interesting and see options for buying the book (some via Amazon, some via iBooks), or watching videos about or reading EW interviews with the author.
The app crashed on me every time I tried to watch a clip via the embedded YouTube player, but with persistence, I was able to successfully watch a Lady Gaga video parody.
I also love that a lot of the content is available for viewing offline.
