There are a ton of apps for moms and dads, especially for new parents. Here are some of my favorite iPhone apps that might be useful – or at the very least fun – for you dads out there.
The good news is that these are all free. While the old saying “https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/apple-store/id327576776?mt=8″ app_id=”74054” target=”_blank”>Radio Disney sure comes in handy as a dad sometimes. Any dad with an iPhone knows how much little ones love Apple’s toy. Disney’s radio app is always a hit with children who enjoy hijacking their dad’s iPhone and it’s definitely kid friendly.
Ancestry.com Tree to Go is a handy app for those that are into genealogy research and building family trees. Truth be told, this is better for viewing your family tree data and only for minor edits. Still, it’s the best of its kind so far.
Hey Where Are You: Location Service by Heyway uses your iPhone’s GPS to share your current location with your family members. Excellent idea for a quick and visual way to keep tabs on where everyone is.
Kids Meal Deals is another family friendly restaurant locator like KidFood, but perhaps the best of breed from what I’ve seen. It’s certainly more accurate than even paid apps like KidsEatFree and it has an easy to use layout. However, it all depends where you live because the listings appear to be sparse in some areas. I guess it just takes time to populate such a listing. Allowing people to add places would surely help.
