Here are the reasons to get the ($1.99) David Guetta iPhone app: You can listen to 30-second clips of tracks from David’s new album One Love, as well as his older albums Pop Life and Guetta Blaster. You can view candid pictures of him, connect to several of his videos, and track his daily whereabouts. You can listen to podcasts of radio shows he has appeared on, upload your own pictures of him, and follow his Twitter feed. You can also receive constant news updates about David, and get the information for all of his shows including city, venue, and address.
Generally, band/DJ iPhone apps are pretty standard. They contain updates about the band, where they’re playing, and how to buy their songs. The most interesting feature of the David Guetta iPhone app is that you can bounce back and forth between song remixes. See what Afrojack has done, and then check out the Abel Ramos remix. But still, are we that off the beaten path here? I think what this iPhone app (and music apps in general; I hope I’m not too biased here) could use is a little variety, something that really makes it stand out. How about if you could Photoshop pictures of yourself with David Guetta, or if you could cook a virtual meal with him? Maybe you could try to write his next song, or compose your own lyrics to his instrumental tracks.
If you love David Guetta, you will enjoy this iPhone app. It is stacked with information, constantly bubbling up with the very latest updates, and filled with opportunities to listen to David’s music and experience his world. But I stand by my theory that this iPhone app could still stand to step up the game here.
