Let me just get this over with: the LEGO Photo iPhone app (free) is most definitely not as fun nor as entertaining as playing with actual LEGOS. LEGO Photo is actually pretty darned lame.
Take a photo with the iPhone app, tap “Use,” wait a moment and then see your photo rendered to appear as if it were supposedly built with LEGOS. Only, that’s not really how it looks. It looks as if you laid some Legos together upright on a table—the tiniest LEGOS, the “onesies,” as my brother and I used to call them—and assembled them so that looking down, they slightly resemble the thing of which you just took a photo.
The LEGO photos look more like blotches of color. I suppose the “entertainment” comes in when you tap your screen and the color palette changes. I’ll be honest with you, I was more entertained earlier today when I spent several minutes spacing out, staring at a cobweb in a corner of my living room, debating internally whether or not I should get rid of it.
LEGO Photo’s page in the iTunes App Store claims that one may easily share their “creation” on social networking sites, but unless I am just too dumb to figure it out, it’s not possible to do it directly from the iPhone app. Which is good, because you don’t want your social network contacts to know that you spent time playing with this.
