Myface iPhone app might only help with half your next makeover

The myface iPhone app ($2.99) was a little hard to navigate at first, but once I finally broke the code, I started to see its advantages. Myface is good for three reasons: You can receive foundation, concealer, and powder advice specific to you upon filling out your skin type and color; you can check out some hot looks for different occasions and the makeup used for each; and you can learn about each application and its function, i.e. eyeliner, lips, blush.

One of the coolest parts about this iPhone app is the brand filter. Let’s say I’m looking for a top-notch foundation, but I’d like a cheaper version for my purse. I can click on both Dior and Revlon to find the right match by each brand. You can also search for makeup by occasion. Going on a date and not sure what look to go with, or maybe you have a job interview and you can’t choose between natural or something a little more Devil Wears Prada? Myface can offer advice, to a point.

Myface offers product colors, but not the names of actual products. So, for example, if I see a look I’d like to imitate for my next concert and I want to pick up the mascara, I know the shade I’m going for is Mac’s All Black; but do I get Zoom Lash or Pro Long Lash? On the other hand, just yesterday my friend and I were trying to figure out the difference between foundation and concealer, and Myface’s “applications” section answered these questions and more, such as how to do a smoky eye, a bold look, and one for everyday.
