Booyah Society gives you credit for being social

Booyah Society gives obsessive Facebook and Twitter posters more reason to share every detail of their lives.

This app is a virtual pat on the back for when you complete certain achievements. What types of achievements? Well, when you update your Facebook status through the app, post a comment on a friend’s profile page or tweet about something, the site gives you a “booyah” to mark the occasion.

The more achievements you get, the bigger the booyah. The app offers nine categories to pursue to earn achievements, ranging from travel to fitness. If you feel your achievement deserves an extra special mention, you can post it as a “booyah moment.” When you gather enough achievements in a category, a trophy appears next to your achievement post.

Even more booyahs follow if your friends comment on your achievements, even if they say how utterly ridiculous it is.

Booyah Society is brought to you by a group of former Blizzard Entertainment workers (the company responsible for World of Warcraft games), which explains why the graphics and animation are of such high quality.

A cute customizable avatar guides you through your social networking adventures. The avatar encourages you to pump more iron or go out to dinner, whatever it takes to amass more achievements, and thus, more bragging rights.

Booyah Society is pointless, but it does make tweeting and updating your status seem more significant.
