Last.fm
Use Last.fm to track the music you and your friends have been playing. Get music recommendations wherever you are based on the music you’re listening. If you opt to turn it on the Last.fm app has a “scrobble” option that will share what song you are listening to on your Last.fm social music profile. Last.fm is also great for finding music events near you.
Shazam – Discover music, artists, videos & lyrics
I don’t think I will ever grow tired of the wonders that is Shazam. Want to know what song that is playing in a movie? How about in a bar? On your radio? Shazam! Press the listen button and the app will tell you the name of the song, artist and album. I have yet to figure out how it works but I continue to be impressed.
TuneWiki – Lyrics with Music
TuneWiki is a social music player that plays your favorite music (songs, internet radio, and music videos) with timed, subtitled lyrics. – Love this idea! There are certain songs that I just can not figure out what they are saying. Problem solved.
92 WICB (91.7 FM) – Ithaca College Radio – The Station For Innovation
I am thoroughly impressed that Colin lives in Texas and can listen to the radio station of his Alma-mater all the way in Ithaca, NY. And apparently this radio station won #1 in 2010 Princeton Review for Best College Radio Station.

You can ID songs blazing fast, search by singing, see lyrics, and browse artists to your heart’s content. Best part is there is no limit to the number of song “tests” you want to run. I think I might have to try out the singing feature to see just how well that works. I didn’t know it could ID songs based on voice. I wonder how well if works if someone is a terrible singer!

this app is new to me and woowie does it certainly fall in the “must have” category. Listen to and record over 40,000 radio stations including thousands of AM/FM local stations. This is a LOT of stations. TuneIn was rated in Top 40 in 2010 by TechCrunch. You can play radio stations, podcasts, mp3s. There are other cool features like search by keyword, sleep timer, alarm (waking up to music is much more fun than beeping), and even buy the currently playing song.
