Unfortunately it has slight trouble distinguishing logos from letter, but the extra data collected makes up for it. Match this with the ability to handle double sided cards, sync multiple devices through the web based service, and connect by phone/sms/web directly from the app make this a powerful tool to have on hand when networking.

With a simple, no frills interface, if you are looking for a way to easily add contact information to your iPhone from business cards, this can be a good solution. This app comes with a very functional anti-shake camera feature that helps in obtaining clear text, then allows you to export the contact directly to your phone while saving a picture of the business card to your photos. It doesn’t get much simpler or easier than that.

CamCard has a very simple interface that packs more functionality than you might expect. This scanner includes an anti-shake camera function that can be turned on and off, as well as double sided capability, phone/text/e-mail/web/LinkedIn connectivity through the app, and a dedicated “card holder” within the app that can be used to review or connect with the contacts that you have collected.

Shoeboxed takes a very unique approach to the card scanner arena. The major difference for this app is instead of relying on a program to hopefully interpret the information on the card, this app sends the card image to a secure processing center to be human verified! This leads to highly accurate information, however, it requires a wait period for the information to be verified and sent back to you. That may be a downside for many networkers that are constantly on the move and need their info now. A strong upside though, is that this app connects with the shoebox.com web based service which allows exporting data in formats for many CRM’s including SalesForce, Constant Contact, BatchBook, or any system that will accept a CSV file. That functionality alone can save hours of data entry once you get back to the office!
