Keep your web browsing data private with Ghostery, our first fresh app of the day. The mobile browser watches for things like ad trackers and cookies, notifies you of when they pop up, and helps you opt out of all kinds of tracking to protect your browsing data. Following that is 5by, a video app that offers curated content based on your mood, how much time you have, and what interests you. Finally, Word Cubes is a Scrabble-like crossword game you can play against your friends, but instead of single-letter tiles, you get six-letter cubes to use to form words and score points.
Ghostery update (Free)
What’s it about? Mobile browser Ghostery is dedicated to user privacy, allowing them to avoid things like tracking cookies, ad trackers and more.
What’s cool? Collecting browsing data is big business on today’s Internet, but many users would rather their personal data and web usage stay personal. Ghostery is a browser that pays attention to and tracks all that invisible activity, identifying the elements of websites that look to collect data about you and letting you know about them. Once the app has identified an element that’s looking to track you, it can provide information about the company behind it so you can opt out of tracking if you so choose. Ghostery also includes all the usual browser perks, like bookmarking, tabbed browsing and searching using another privacy focused service, DuckDuckGo. The app’s latest update brings a new iOS7-focused style, Wi-Fi tracking protection, a new “block new trackers by default” setting, and a few other handy improvements.

Word Cubes (Free)
What’s it about? Online word game Word Cubes mixes up the usual Scrabble-like gameplay of similar crossword games by giving players cubes rather than tiles – and therefore, lots more letters.
What’s cool? Most crossword games in the vein of Scrabble go with the classic setup: Players are given letter tiles and have to use the letters on those tiles to create words and build off other players’ words. Word Cubes takes a 3-D route, and instead of giving players tiles, it gives them cubes, meaning there’s a letter on each of your cubes’ six sides. Throw in double-letter cubes and that means you get at least six letter choices on each cube, and as many as 12, to make your words. The result is lots more words and a lot more options for players. Word Cubes includes online play that lets you challenge your Facebook or Game Center friends, as well as play against random people from around the world. Just keep in mind that you’ll have to create an account in order to play.
Who’s it for? Fans of word games who like multiplayer competition should check out Word Cubes.
