Diptic Video($1.99)

What’s it about? Diptic Video is a fun app that lets you make and share your own video collages with your friends and family.

What’s cool? The original Diptic came out back in 2010, and was a great photo collage app. Diptic Video is the logical progression, switching to video collages instead of photo collages. You can combine up to four videos in 35 different layouts and tell fun stories from your vacations or special events. You can loop your video clips, and set the playback settings, letting you play shots normally or in reverse for cool effects. Before sharing your video collages with your friends, you can even add a soundtrack by choosing any song from your iPhone. It’s simple, but it’s fun and well done.

Who’s it for? Anyone who has an interest in combining their video clips into collages.

What’s it like? ClipStitch and InstaVid for Instagram let you make similar collages.

What’s cool? Assassin’s Creed IV is probably the most interesting Assassin’s Creed game in the series, and a great follow up to the poorly received third game. Not only does it give you the biggest sandbox yet to explore and enjoy, but come on! It’s pirates! Pirates are awesome. This spin-off puts you in the boots of Alonzo Batilla, a new character looking to break some rules and wreak some havoc. As with the main game, you have a huge map to sail through, with over fifty story and side missions, nearly one hundred treasures to find, and plenty of epic naval battles to take part in.

Who’s it for? Anyone who loves pirates, or wide open action adventure games.

What’s it like? Sid Meier’s Pirates! and Crimson: Steam Pirates can give you more of your naval combat fix.

KingHunt – The Next Generation Slicing Game ($0.99)

What’s it about? A brand new slicing game from Mountain Sheep, the creators of Minigore.

What’s cool? Many games have aped and imitated the formula set forth by Fruit Ninja, and barely any of them come close to capturing the same magic and simplicity of that game. If any developer can do it, it’s Mountain Sheep, and their approach is very different from most. The subtitle “Next Generation Slicing Game” refers to the copious bells and whistles attached to this game. Crazy next gen dynamic lighting and particle effects, precise cutting, hundreds of unique enemies that will come at you from all sides of the screen, twelve different worlds, all rendered in gorgeous HD visuals. This game is a beast, and full of content. Most importantly, it’s fun!

Who’s it for? Anyone who enjoys slicing games or unique premises and worlds.

What’s it like? Chop Chop Slicer and Ninja Fishing are some more slicing game alternatives to enjoy.
