The app doesn’t pick your music for you, instead, it lets your party’s attendees vote on what they want to hear. The app allows others to vote on their devices, “tugging” songs up and down on the list so that you know what most people want to hear next on the list.
TuneTug does all the work of DJing for you, allowing you to hook the app up to your iTunes library so that the song that receives the most votes gets played automatically straight from your device. You can also connect more than one iOS device, so that one device can serve as the music player while another fields the voting.
GifBoom: Animated Photos (iPhone, iPad) Free
Turn your videos into animated GIF image files without much hassle with GifBoom. The app converts videos in your camera roll into a series of still frames on a loop, creating a short video clip you can share on the Internet. You can also make animated GIFs out of photos you have on your device. Once you pick what you want, it’s a simple matter of adjusting speed and the order of images and exporting the file when you’re done.
GifBoom provides a fair number of options once you’ve created what you want. You can upload your files to your computer using iTunes, or send them to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and email. You can even send your animated GIFs as MMS picture messages to other smartphone users.
Cado (iPhone, iPad) $0.99
A puzzler that’s all about gravity, Cado is a sphere you need to direct around structures to a waiting portal in each of the game’s levels. In order to move the sphere around, you need to tilt the structures using a pair of buttons, making use of gravity to cause the sphere to pick up speed. The trick is, you need to rotate the structure to make sure the ball doesn’t fall off the side.
Cado is simple to play and easy to understand, but it’ll take a deft touch to master it. The game features 40 levels as of right now, and developer ClearCut Games is working on another 20-level pack that it’s going to release for free as an update.
Cubes vs. Spheres (iPhone, iPad) $0.99
Set in a 3-D world of ever-advancing enemy cubes, you must defend yourself from danger by launching spheres at your attacking enemies. Cubes vs. Spheres is highly simple, yet cool-looking: cubes advance toward you across each level. To fight back, you summon up a sphere to shoot at the enemies by flicking it. It’s an extremely simple premise, but Cubes vs. Spheres gets tense in a hurry as cubes surround your position and threaten to defeat you.
Cubes vs. Spheres features Game Center support for achievements and leaderboards, and you can rack-up high scores by taking out multiple cubes through chain reactions as they explode under fire. The more you play and the more points you earn, the more of the game’s six upgrades you can buy, giving you new options for weaponry to use against your adversaries.
