I Am T-Pain update auto-tunes videos on your iPhone 4

Sometimes, it’s the simplest things that entertain us.  Take T-Pain’s iPhone app, for example.  I Am T-Pain, on sale right now for 99 cents, has stepped things up with an iPhone 4 upgrade.  You can now record video with Autotunes, and even use your new front-facing camera.

The app seemed ridiculous when it first came out last year, and even more so now that we’ve moved beyond the Autotunes thing.  But there’s something annoyingly addictive about this iPhone app, only exacerbated by the new video-recording features.

Easy Autotunes

Set-up with video on the I Am T-Pain app is simple, with instructions leading you through the entire process.  Once you’ve gotten through the intro, you’re met with a list of songs to choose from for recording purposes.  Some are free, some you’ll have to pay for.  If you’ve already tried the first version of the app, this part is familiar.

The front-facing video camera is a great new feature for I Am T-Pain, and a natural next step for the development of the app.  Your video is shot in a comical theater frame, with a notification bar to let you know you’re recording live. The lyrics to your selected song are shown below.

The best part about the I Am T-Pain app is that you can hear the Autotunes as you record your video.  That makes the app 10 times more fun and interactive.  Videos can be shared on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, and are also saved on your phone.  In all, I Am T-Pain’s video upgrade was smartly done.
