After six seasons of loving Vince, Turtle, E, and Drama, it’s hard to imagine a Sunday night without the gang from HBO’s hit series “Entourage.” Luckily, we have at least one, maybe two, more seasons left, as well as the promise of a movie. If you’ve seen the suspenseful Season 7 trailer (if not, no spoiler alert here!), you’re probably on the edge of your seat with that feeling of wanting to get through all of the episodes as quickly as possible just to find out how it turns out. You probably also want to to stretch each Sunday night drama out for as long as you possibly can. For now, there’s not much else to do but count the days, hours, and minutes until June 27. And when that gets old, check out the apps below to read about, and view photos and videos of, your favorite actors.
HBO
As soon as I opened up the free HBO app, I was overwhelmed—with joy, of course—by that comforting noise that comes along with the HBO logo, and then Adrian Grenier’s face staring back at me. First, you see a description of the series premise, then an episode guide for Seasons 5 and 6, with a detailed plot summary, plus a chance to share with friends and an opportunity to buy the episodes from Season 5.
Then, the best part — videos, complete with a trailer, behind the scenes clips, and previews dating back to episode 67, just in case you missed a beat. Plus, actor bios, photos, and a random game called “Hidden Objects,” where you look for a list of, yes, hidden objects within a scene of Entourage actors.
TMZ
On the free TMZ app, “Entourage” comes up quite a bit in all the strange ways you might or might not expect. The first “Entourage” morsel I came across was “The Men of Entourage: Who’d You Rather?,” then a picture of Jeremy Piven shirtless on the beach, followed by Piven offering advice on how to beat a hangover—sweat it all out of your system—to his friend as they drive. Then an interview with my favorite, Kevin Connolly, as he crosses the street and a cameraman asks him about a comment made by Rex Lee; Kev acts like a bro and defends his co-worker.
E! Online
If you’re not a Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, or Audrina Patridge, you probably won’t make the front “page” of E! Online, so the best way to find your “Entourage” men on the free E! Online app is by using the search engine. Once you do, some choice stuff comes up: A picture of Grenier drinking champagne, his new haircut, Emmanuelle Chriqui (Sloan) wearing a questionable outfit, a picture of Jessica Simpson, who has tweeted about guest appearing on the show while on set, and so on. You get the idea.
Young Hollywood
Young Hollywood (free) is cool because they have lots of videos; not just gossip, blurbs, or pics of stars. There are a few super-quality videos involving the “Entourage” crew; each are in-depth and show the actors in hugely varied contexts. YH’s Chet Cannon speaks to Grenier about his documentary, Teenage Paparazzo, where Grenier turns the camera on a young paparazzo and examines what that means, as well as the media culture in general. We catch Kevin Connolly behind the scenes directing The Game and Ne-Yo’s Goodfellas, Mafioso-esque music video, “Camera Phone.” And a few more still, all worth checking out.
Variety
Variety loves “Entourage.” On their free app, there are clips of the cast dating back to 2003, when the show was in its very first stages. In between then and now are tons of pictures of the stars arriving at Golden Globes and being nominated for Emmys, show and season reviews, plus news and information.
The Hollywood Gossip
Finding The Hollywood Gossip app (free) was kind of like hitting the jackpot. Select a celebrity and read a little bio about them, view pictures, and check out interesting and funny news blurbs. For example, check out a “new couple alert” about Adrian Grenier and Ashley Greene, then another post debunking it; Kristin Cavallari flirting with Kevin Connolly at a Maxim Party around a Super Bowl game in Arizona; and Jeremy Piven taking his mom to the Emmys. The best part about this app is that the bios aren’t written in an overly-serious fashion and say things like “Piven is a funny guy and a cool dude, as well. Needs to cut back on the sushi, though.”
Pocket Entourage
Judging by the name of this free app, you would think Pocket Entourage was directly related to the show; maybe it even had pocket-sized episodes, and/or pictures with cast information like baseball trading cards. But instead, this app is meant to act as your own entourage. Perhaps modeled after the show, but maybe not (though its certainly in the same vein), this app is supposed to act as your E, Drama, and Turtle. When you shake your phone, however, it just flashes phrases across the screen, such as, “Encore!,” “Hooray,” “You the man!,” “Awww!,” and my favorite, “Hehehe.” But still, it might be hard to find a gang of three-plus men to make you the focus of their lives, so maybe this is a decent alternative.
