I can lie in bed all day and read the news via various iPad apps, but with : Multisource Video News Analysis, I can listen to it while I’m puttering around doing other things.
Newsy for iPad doesn’t just aggregate news from various sources. News from different sources is brought together into an item that is read by one of a handful of Newsy anchorpeople. Written and video sources are woven together to give a wider view of the story. Newsy calls it “analysis.”
In portrait mode, news stories are listed by thumbnails. Users can drag the thumbnails of stories they’re interested in down to a playlist. You can read a transcript of the story, and access a list of the sources used. Share stories by email, Facebook and Twitter, and even post your own comments.
In landscape mode, stories are presented as a stack of photographs. News can be filtered by categories: All, World, US, Politics, Business, Entertainment, Tech/Sci and Environment, or search for news by keyword.
Video is very clear and so far, I’ve been finding the news offered by Newsy to be well presented.
