Minigore is the bloody equivalent of that famous “I Love Lucy” sequence where Lucille Ball has to wrap chocolates that come increasingly faster down a conveyer belt. Instead of stuffing chocolates down your throat, your bloodlust is fed via fluffy creatures who keep appearing in a lush forest.
There’s a lot of action, but no story. And all the player gets is a gun and plenty of targets.
For controls, it uses a dual joystick approach that requires one thumb to move your character, while the other aims your firepower with never-ending ammo to stop the non-stop waves of baddies.
Although Minigore isn’t breaking any new ground, it does get points for inventiveness in having your gruff, Duplo-looking hero collect four-leaf clovers to turn into an invincible horned beast to turn the tables against your enemies.
But that’s about it. Minigore is intended for a quick bout of twitch gaming on the train. Too bad it’s not as entertaining as watching Lucy.
