MySpace Mobile slides users into the groove

MySpace, the pioneering and popular social network, gets into the app game with MySpace Mobile. Now instead of waiting for hours to call up the random comments about your MySpace blog, it is available instantaneously on your iPhone. That alone makes this a worthy download and a leader amongst social networking iPhone apps.

After logging in, your MySpace “home” screen on the iPhone comes up. This is a more truncated and organized version of the Web page — which includes your profile picture. “My Profile,” “Friends Status and Mood,” “Friend Updates,” “Bulletins,” “Comments,” and “Settings” allow access to the familiar MySpace features.

The bottom row of access points make navigating even easier, indicating mail, friend requests, access to friends and pictures. All profile pictures appear with each friend comment, just like the web version.

Access to “My Profile,” updates, moods and statistics is the same as on the Web page. Viewing/adding friends, comments and pictures is fairly organic (tap-tap). Arguably, it’s easier to navigate on the MySpace Mobile app because there are no flashing and pastings that slow down surfing on the Web version.

Uploading photos from the iPhone to your profile, photo section or blogs is in the latest version, along with access to band site upcoming shows and bios. Alas, the music on the band sites is not yet available.

Blogs can be updated using the iPhone keyboard and are displayed with illustrations intact.

If you are addicted to updating MySpace and want to keep adjusting and checking settings, this is a perfect app to add to your iPhone.
