Spring is almost over, and it’s time to download some iPod Touch apps to help you get the most out of summertime. This month ushered in the usual assortment of excellent apps that work well on the iPod Touch, and no matter what your summer plans are, the Top 10 list below is sure to entertain while you travel, inform while you keep up, and add to your well-being.

If you’re planning a summer soiree and you’d like some help pairing wine and cheese, give the free Cheese Matters app a little taste. You can spin a wheel with cheeses on the left, and a wheel with wine on the right, to find a delicious match.

9. BowlingSlime Lite

Here’s a simple bowling game for you or the kids. Scoring for BowlingSlime Lite (Free) is the same as traditional bowling, but there are no gutters, and your ball has two cute eyeballs.

8. BBC Listener

The BBC Listener app (99 cents) includes a 30-day trial to enjoy approximately 20 radio programs per week and access to an archive of 10 years worth of documentaries from the news outlet. Programs can be downloaded for listening offline, and the subscription cost after the trial period is $9.99 per quarter.

The Contract Kit app ($4.99) is a collection of more than 600 contracts and letters, which are especially helpful to small- or medium-size business owners. The forms may also be accessed online when you purchase the app, and include invoices, confidentiality agreements and business letters of various types.

The Pocket Guide to Managing Stress app ($1.99) is a basic series of motivational quotes to help you mitigate your work-related stress. The tips are organized into categories, and the simplicity of the app is part of what makes it enjoyable to use. You can bookmark the tips you want to read again later, and categories include “In Another’s Shoes,” “Little Breathers” and “Lookin’ Good, Boss.”

Create fascinating line and dot drawings that move with the Bubble Harp app ($1.99). It’s even more fun when you first start playing music, and then open the Bubble Harp app, which does not have any sound by itself.

The Knight Rider app ($4.99) is an exciting driving game based on the 1980s hit television show of the same name, and features tap controls, sharp sound effects and the program’s theme song. The app plays clips from the show when you acquire items and achieve goals.

The Woody Woodpecker And Friends app ($1.99) plays eight classic cartoons featuring old favorites, such as Woody himself, Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny. The best part is, you don’t need a Wi-Fi connection to watch; the videos are downloaded with the app.

What makes the Snowtape Radio app ($1.99) great is the ability to record music from online radio stations. You can’t export the saved audio files, but it is really cool to be able to build a little music library within the app.
