Waterslide 2 game a slight improvement over its predecessor

Waterslide 2 by FISHLABS is the kind of game where you get exactly what you expect, nothing more and nothing less. On one hand, that’s a good thing, because you aren’t disappointed, but on the other, that’s disappointing.

Have you every played Waterslide Extreme? That was a fun little timewaster, to be sure, where you try to collect gems and dodge crabs as you go down the waterslide.

Waterslide 2 is exactly the same as Waterslide Extreme except with a couple of interesting upgrades. First of all, Waterslide 2 is available for iPad, whereas Waterslide Extreme was not, and the visual upgrade is not insignificant. This is one attractive game, graphics-wise. I mean, technically it’s just the first game’s iPhone graphics upscaled for the larger screen, but it’s nice. Your avatar is now fully on the screen instead of half or all the way off, which is a huge difference, creating more of a third person experience.

Aside from the visuals, the main difference between Waterslide Extreme and Waterslide 2 is that you can now collect power-ups and use them when you feel like it rather than only when you hit the icons. These power-ups include things like invincibility, a bomb and an inner tube that makes it much easier to collect score bubbles.

The controls feel more responsive than Waterslide Extreme as well, but that might just be my imagination. All in all, though, Waterslide 2 does just enough to improve over its predecessor to not be considered pointless. A solid timewaster all around.
