This edition of games of the week has a little something for everyone. Space games, fighting animals, tales of April Fool’s jokes, sports games without the sport and, of course, zombies. I could explain it all now, or you could just read on.

Football Manager Handheld 2010 ($9.99) from Sports Interactive is a soccer (it’s a European-based game, hence the ‘Football Manager’ title) management game that allows you to control things like personnel decisions and on-field strategy. The idea of playing a soccer game without actually playing soccer may sound boring, but the game is incredibly addictive and a wonderful experience for those of us who think they know more than their team’s actual management. Because of memory restrictions, this isn’t the full PC game, but there are still 34 leagues and more than 20,000 players. All in all it still feels very much like Football Manager, and having the ability to play the game on a phone is as good as it gets.
