I used to doodle faces in the margins of my notebooks, but I had little talent for the medium. Luckily for me, the new iPhone app ($1.99) lets me create custom faces with a hand-drawn feel just like a professional illustrator.
To start, select the gender of your subject. Then, using the horizontal option menus, you can choose from more than 330 eyes, eyebrows, noses, mouths, face shapes, hairstyles, glasses, accessories, hand placements, background images and styles to create your face. Certain items can be lowered or raised, too. When you’re finished, save your work of art to the gallery. You can send the image to your camera roll, upload to Facebook or Twitter, or assign the image to one of your contacts. If you’re bored of designing your own faces, tap the random button to generate a unique face.
Overall, Uface is an extremely user-friendly iPhone app, which can provide an unusual twist to your contact photo album. For the price point, I would like to see more character options delivered in the future, but the existing choices are a good base to get started — no actual drawing required.
