When the i.TV app launched in January, it began as a basic television and movie guide. Today, i.TV has become a great all-in-one entertainment resource for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
After its most recent update, the app now boasts remote control capabilities and a plethora of improved features.
Using i.TV, users are able to browse TV listings, set timers on supported DVR devices and have email or alarm reminders for favorite shows. The app’s dedicated movie category gives information on upcoming, current films and even locates show times.
New iTunes integration provides easy access to related music, videos, podcasts and more. It also includes credits, Wikipedia entries and community reviews from top critics. You can even tag your favorite shows, movies and actors for easy retrieval.
A simple search for a movie or show will bring up results for TV listings and the ability to add the selected title to your Netflix queue.
While there’s Fandango for movie information and TV Tracker! for television listings, no other app gets the job done better than the all-aound i.TV.
It’s almost overwhelming how much i.TV offers. And with new features being added regularly, who knows what will pop up in the next version.
