If you aren’t using Kayak.com, you’re probably missing out on cheaper flights, car rentals or hotels. But if you are familiar with the popular travel search engine, which aggregates fares from a variety of online travel agencies, you’ll be happy to know that the $1.99 iPhone app Kayak First Class Flight and Hotel Search makes planning travel on your iPhone or iPod Touch enjoyable.
Kayak First Class Flight and Hotel Search is a pay app, but there is also a free version available. The only difference I could find between the two is that First Class offers the ability to search first class and business class fares, in addition to economy.
The iPhone app has a slick interface and users can now log in to their Kayak.com accounts. This puts complete trip itineraries right at your fingertips. There’s also an airline directory that offers up urls and phone numbers if you need assistance from an actual person. Kayak Flight and Hotel Search also integrates its “buzz” feature, which charts the best/average fares for the itinerary for which you’re searching.
This app is best used as a comprehensive contact manager for airlines or hotels, but you can also track price trends to determine the best times to travel if your schedule is flexible.
For frequent travelers, the free Kayak will come in handy.
