These tennis-themed iPhone apps have you covered for the Australian Open

It may be early in the calendar year, but the tennis season is already in full swing now that the sport’s first major in 2010 – the Australian Open – is underway.

As is typical around any major sporting event, we’ve seen a flurry of tennis iPhone apps released and updated in hopes of capitalizing on the hype surrounding it. The event, as well as the upcoming tennis season, have been well covered by iPhone app developers.

And though I can’t promise you another epic battle between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, I can promise you there’s an iPhone app to make sure you won’t miss any breaking news from the tournament or the 2010 season.

Australian Open iPhone apps

The most popular iPhone app specific to the event is the Pro iPhone game won’t do anything for gamers, but it may help those looking to improve their game. It doesn’t come cheap, though, so you’ll probably want to give the lite version a try before paying $12.99 for the full iPhone game.
