You have seen the IQ tests online, the ones that give you a series of questions to determine how smart you are. But what about tools to measure stupidity? The Moron Test iPhone app takes an unorthodox and ultimately unsatisfying approach to this ever-so-important issue.
The popular application tests your smarts with a fun interface that takes advantage of the iPhone’s touch screen. Somehow, the whimsical application makes you feel stupid in a fun way. The Moron Test is based on a series of questions with several levels you need to pass from complete moron to utterly brilliant.
All you have to do is follow the instructions. They are basic at first: Push the red button, click the remaining planet, etc.
But then they get harder.
Similar to the ’80s game, Simon Says, The Moron Test incrementally tests your smarts and your stamina. You go from pushing the red button once to pushing it twice, then the green button, then the yellow button four times.
Unlike Simon Says, however, The Moron Test does not change the series of questions based on your previous answers. Once you get an answer correct, you will know the answer each time you play; you are simply given the same test over and again.
Factor in the timing aspect of The Moron Test, and this app becomes a test of memory and speed as well.
One suggestion: social features for sharing high scores and times with other players and friends would be a good addition for this goofy app.
