10K Runner
You mastered the 5K app in 2011 so now check out the stellar 10K Runner: Couch to 5K to 10K app ($2.99) moving into 2012. The app trains you through 30-60 minute running session three days a week for 14 weeks. Your virtual running coach will guide you through the warm up, running intervals and cool down for each workout. If you are a complete beginner, this fitness app is filled with running wisdom to have you feeling like a running geek in no time. Share your runs on Facebook and Twitter straight from the app to get encouragement from your friends and family.
Calorie Tracker – LIVESTRONG.COM
For many health conscious folks, counting calories is a way of everyday life. The Calorie Tracker – LIVESTRONG.COM app ($2.99) makes that task easier as well as combining calorie counting with goal setting and progress tracking. If you are looking to jumpstart weight loss or wanting an easy tool to help you maintain your weight, this app is sure to make your daily food intake and exercise reporting duties easier. After all, you don’t become a world class athlete with mindless eating and long sits on the couch!
Nike Training Club
The free Nike Training Club app has the answer to well-toned abs and fresh cardio routines, all in the palm of your hand without having to flex your muscles to open your wallet. This fitness app is always my answer to what is my workout going to be today. There are full body workouts and short cardio-based ones that keep each session fresh, no gym required. This fitness app is constantly releasing new work outs, some even from professional athletes.
Meal Snap – Calorie Counting Magic
The name of this app says it all. Snap a photo of your meal and the app magically figures out what you are eating along with an estimated calorie count. I wouldn’t recommend solely relying on the Meal Snap – Calorie Counting Magic app ($0.99) for measuring your dietary needs, but it is pretty fun for calorie counters on-the-go.
