Take the green hues out of your photos with universal Greenspot Fix app

Greenspot Fix by OTIV Labs (free) is a camera substitute and picture-repair application for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad running iOS 4.1. The purpose of this app is to repair the green circle that appears on your pictures when taking photos with your iPhone in florescent light. I have never experienced this error with the iPhone camera, however, when experimenting with the app, I found that it seems to do well enough in repairing green hues that appear in the picture. If you have experienced this issue, you should give Greenspot Fix a try.

This app starts out strong by inviting you to watch a tutorial of how the app functions. The app then takes you to a slideshow of instructions on how to use all the basic functions of the app. After you watch the tutorial, using the app is a breeze. You can begin by either opening the camera and taking a new picture under fluorescent light that you can immediately edit to remove the green hue or you can touch-up existing photos in your library.

The app is simple to use, and is designed for people who would not be interested in fine-tuning multiple aspects of the picture. The function is basic: Remove green hues by adjusting the white balance slightly, and then counteract any overbearing red hues by readjusting the white balance slightly further. This functionality is made completely user-friendly by the sliders placed below each of the pictures being edited. Simply slide the sliders until the picture looks like you want it to, and then save it.

The look and feel of the app is refreshing, and I found it to be extremely easy to use. With the tutorial in the beginning, there’s no reason why anyone can’t use this app. Greenspot Fix is not extraordinary, however, if it fixes your problem, it’s definitely worth the time.
