Tacts Mini app improves your iPhone’s contacts

One of the bigger selling points of Tacts Mini is that it’s supposed to use the iPhone’s location services to allow you to organize your contacts by the people who are nearest to you currently.

That is an admittedly very cool feature, but I can’t think of very many people, myself included, who have the address info for many of their contacts entered into their phone. Luckily, lacking that vital data hardly makes Tacts Mini worthless.

Tacts Mini is a truly customizable contacts app. You can create any number of groups quickly and easily, and getting rid of groups you don’t want is simple, as well. The ease of use here really makes you wonder why the iPhone’s contacts page is so limited in the first place.

In addition to group creation, Tacts Mini lets you search your contacts by pretty much any info you’ve ever entered into a contact before: phone, email, company, address, even note and, of course, by name. That level of detail is a treat to work with.

Even visually, Tacts Mini brings something to the table. It would be a big stretch to say an app that focuses on text-based names is visually beautiful, but the buttons and layout all have a certain boldness that stands out elegantly. Clicking on an actual contact in the app also looks great, as whatever contact information you’ve filled in for a person is lit up via vibrant neon colors.

Tacts Mini just seems to have much more to offer than your average contacts app, and it does so in a very well-organized design. While all of its features might not be of use to every user, there’s still a lot here for people with large contact lists to adore. Now, excuse me, I need to create a group for all the Chicago area codes in my phone!
