Svpply shows you the web’s most wanted—products for purchase, that is

I love a good wishlist app, and although app Svpply, for iPhone and iPod Touch, is designed more for product curation, you can bet I’ll be sharing my profile when my next birthday rolls around. Every day, Svpply features new products culled from the web. It’s current database boasts more than a million offerings and the app lets users keep track of the products they’re interested in. Think a more controlled Pinterest, as Svpply strictly works with products, rather than concepts.

Svpply connects with your Twitter or Facebook account (but doesn’t post unless you want it to) and will automatically connect you with other Svpply users. I was pleased to see I already knew a few people using the service. That speaks highly of Svpply’s offerings. I also love that you can take the app for a test drive before connecting your accounts—that alone makes it worth the download.

Once you’re up and running, Svpply offers a gorgeous UI for finding items. Products are divided into 30 browseable categories, but there’s also a search function if there’s a particularly item weighing on your mind. When you see something you like, simply tap the “want” button to add it to your profile. You can tap the “buy” button to go straight to the merchant’s website, but many of these aren’t mobile optimized, so you may want to wait until you’re at a real computer. Svpply also offers the ability to create collections letting you create folders of similar items. As you find people to follow, you’ll see their daily wants in the feed section.

Svpply offers a web version of its service, too. Through the website you mark items owned—something the app omits, unfortunately—but the good part is that you can share your Svpply.com link with friends and loved ones and they won’t need an account to view your most wanted items.
