Sushipedia iPhone app perfect for sushi lovers

If you are a sushi enthusiast looking for the latest in raw fish cuisine, or a sushi novice trying to overcome your fear of new eats, download the free Sushipedia app – you’ll be drooling before you even pick up the chopsticks.

Start by browsing through Sushipedia’s comprehensive list of sushi. There’s akagai (red clam), hiramasa (yellowtail amberjack), Philadelphia roll (with cream cheese) and tobiko (flying-fish roe), as well as about 300 others, all with descriptions thorough enough to satisfy an editor at Encyclopedia Britannica.

But if you have a craving for salmon or eel, get straight to the point by searching for sushi by ingredient.  Or, search by attributes such as raw fish, cooked fish, no fish or spicy.

Another cool feature allows you to scroll through a list of seasonal fish, ensuring that you don’t order anything that has been in a deep freeze since your dad’s 16th birthday.

The only thing lacking is a list of endangered fish. It would be nice to know which types of sushi you can eat without throwing off the ecosystem.
