Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off in two weeks. Accordingly, we are now in the high season of next-generation iPhone rumors.
The most recent one grabbing attention comes from 9to5Mac, which is publishing images of what could be black and white metal backs of a future iPhone.
Here are the highlights:
–The metal backs, which appear on multiple photographs procured by 9to5Mac, could be decorative, or have some other unknown purpose.
–The metal antenna appears to molded into the metal backplates.
–A smaller dock connector is in the works.
–The earphone jack is moving to the bottom corner of the device
–The screen resolution could be larger, reportedly at 1136×640, and at 3.999 inches diagonally.
Of course, we take these rumors with an ocean of salt, but enjoy playing the educated guessing game like everyone else. Even if these components do emerge in a next-gen iPhone, we shouldn’t expect one to debut until this fall.
More likely at the WWDC will be significant iOS updates and hopefully the emergence of a fully operational Apple TV.
Stay tuned.
