Sports Radio, while not perfect, is a must have for sports talk radio fans

Sports talk radio is easily one of my guiltiest pleasures. I know that it shouldn’t be entertaining to hear grown men yelling at each other about whether the 3-4 or 4-3 is a more effective defense, but I can’t help but be captivated by it.

So I guess it is no shock that I absolutely love Sports Radio, a $1.99 app from Intersect World LLC that allows iPhone users to listen to sports talk stations from all over the world.

While the app has a good selection of stations, there are plenty of omissions. I wanted to check out the two Austin sports talk stations I used to listen to, for instance, but they were not included.

The developer’s website has a list of included stations, so if you are interested in a specific one you should absolutely check for it out before you buy. Also, earlier this month Intersect World added more than 80 additional stations to the app. Expect even more to come in future updates.

The app includes a section where you can add and save streams, but after 30 frustrating minutes I gave up trying to get it to work. I don’t doubt that the features works, but having to type in the lengthy URL is way too frustrating and annoying.

Sports Radio also offers a favorites list, which is a great for an app that offers so many options.

Simply put, the app is not perfect but does the job. If you’re a fan of sports talk radio, this app will offer you hours and hours of entertainment.

More stations would be nice and there has to be an easier way to input new streams, but don’t let those relatively small complaints stop you from getting this fantastic app.
