You’re familiar with the drill—one friend always forgets to get cash from the ATM and your alligator arms coworker is conveniently in the bathroom when the check comes. And all too often after a late night out with friends, somebody always gets the shaft paying for more of dinner, the taxi, drinks bills or late-night food runs. If that person is always you, then you will love the goDutch iPhone app ($1.99), which lets you keep track of expenses from your night out right on your iPhone.
Start a new project, (i.e., the Friday night girls’ night out), and then keep track of all the expenses incurred and who participated; you can keep track of who ate, who drank, who bowled and who rode in the taxi. You can add a weight to participants in order to assign more or less money to each, but you can’t keep track by individual charges in each project.
If you get stiffed, simply send an email to your friend directly from the app the next day to make sure they remember to pay up. Or, just keep track and have them pay for the next outing. On that note, this app would be fabulous for keeping track of expenses on a weekend getaway or vacation with friends.
