I’m not a big fan of the iPhone’s camera. Snapture, however, adds functions that at least make the iPhone camera a little more useful.
A level aid will help you properly align your photos. Pinching your screen will allow you to zoom in by up to 5 times, and you can choose from three different sizes for your photos (large, medium, small).
Snapture’s Quickview system allows you to view the last few photos you’ve taken as thumbnails on the iPhone’s screen. A thumbnail stack of your last four photos can be spread out with a tap. For a fullscreen view, press and hold any of the thumbnails.
Most other photo apps require the user to head over to the camera roll, but the Quickview lets you utilize the photos you’ve most recently taken right from within Snapture. To delete or email a photo in the stack, simply slide it across the screen, and choose “email” or “delete.” Now that MMS is allowed by AT&T, it would be great if Snapture included an MMS option here.
Taking a photo is also easier—just tap anywhere on the screen instead of clicking the home button. You can also set the camera to automatically take three shots in a row, which will improve your chances of getting a good shot.
It’s not going to turn your iPhone into a fancy-pants dSLR, but Snapture adds functionality to the iPhone camera that should have been there in the first place.
