Snapp! if you want another option to add contacts to your iPhone

Your mileage with Snapp! will depend almost entirely on whether or not you believe that you’d be better off with a separate group listing for your business contacts. If you’re of that opinion, then the Snapp! iPhone app might be what you’re looking for. If not, you might want to move along now.

Getting started with Snapp! is easy: Just fill out a digital business card of sorts with your own information, and after that, anyone you add into the app will be added under a “Snapp!” contacts list in your iPhone.  You’ll also be given the option of sending an email with your business card info out to anyone you add using Snapp!. Again, depending on your desire for this feature, this app either will or won’t appeal to you.

As much as I’d love to turn my drawer of business cards into a digital display of business contacts, this email feature quite turns me off. I don’t want to send weird emails with my contact information out to people just because I added their details to my phone, especially if I’ve been sitting on their card for too long as it is. While you can bypass the step, doing so creates a third contact list on your phone that’s labeled as “Snapp! Partial,” which is similarly frustrating.

While Snapp! is a free app, it also contains several bonus features that are, of course, only available for an extra $3. I don’t think that’s necessarily unfair, but to see the vague “Social Media” tag behind a pay wall without the ability to find out what it is seems odd, given that social networking apps thrive because they aren’t pay services themselves.

Unless you feel the desire to immediately email a contact once you get their card in your hands, this app would need to do a bit more to warrant a look. Sure it’s a free addition to your current contacts page, but it just doesn’t seem to do enough to warrant bothering with yet.
