The factory builder game Satisfactory has officially launched its 1.0 update on PC, marking the transition from early access to a fully-fledged release. The game has been in early access since 2019, and the journey to 1.0 includes five years of refining and enhancing, totaling eight years of development overall. The 1.0 update introduces new endgame content, additional customization options, and the full implementation of the story.
Players can now delve into Tier 9 and Phase 5 content, where the focus is on Quantum Technology. This advanced tech allows for more efficient shipping of goods off-planet and the completion of the game’s significant Save The Day program. Alien technologies, such as portals for instantaneous transportation and Dimensional Depots for streamlined inventory management, add depth to gameplay but demand considerable power resources.
Customization options have also expanded, allowing players to add windows, fences, and new paint finishes to their factories. Personalization extends to avatars, with new options to customize uniforms, helmets, and build guns. The launch includes a series of achievements that align with the game’s progression milestones and encourage exploration.
satisfactory hits milestone with 1.0 launch
Some achievements even incorporate playful nods, though they aren’t retroactively awarded to players who completed tasks before the update, due to changes and additions made in nearly every stage of the game’s progression. Coffee Stain Studios has confirmed that a console version of Satisfactory is now in development, although the release window and further details remain undisclosed.
The studio views the 1.0 release as a monumental milestone and assures fans that it does not signify the end of Satisfactory’s development. The game has seen an enormous surge in popularity since its 1.0 launch, boasting a concurrent player count record that’s over five times larger than its early access peak. The official Satisfactory Twitter account announced, “Before this week, our highest CCU [concurrent users] on Steam was 34K.
I can’t tell you how crazy this is to me. Thank you, everyone!”
Satisfactory managed to exceed this milestone, reaching an all-time concurrent player record of 186,158, according to SteamDB data. With nearly 114,000 players in the game at the time of writing, its popularity shows no signs of waning.
The game continues to be available on PC and maintains a significant presence within its community. For more updates and to join the conversation, players can visit official forums and social channels.
