Calgary Scientific’s app Using ResolutionMD Mobile, your doctor can access the ResMD server and see both 2-D and 3-D versions of available datasets (i.e., CT or MRI scans), or view them in MIP/MPR. Because the app doesn’t require DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) image data, your confidential information never leaves the server and is kept private. Clinicians also don’t have to wait for data to be transferred to their device, which means data can be accessed instantly—important in time-sensitive situations.
Clinicians can scroll through 2-D slices with the slide of a finger and pan and zoom the image with the typical pinching and pulling movements. In 3-D, you can completely rotate the image, or tap the info “I” to see all the available functions. Shaking your device will refresh the image to its normal view. If you rotate your phone to landscape mode while viewing 3-D, you’ll be able to use Calgary’s lens feature, which allows you to zoom in on an area through an obstruction.
To use ResolutionMD Mobile, you’ll need to enter a ResMD server address into the settings panel, or you’ll need to contact Calgary Scientific about a demo. Although the app has only been officially approved for use in Canada, it is currently being tested across the U.S., including at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
