This week saw the launch of a PlayStation 2 emulator on Android, which is great news for PS2 gamers. Nintendo emulators have been available for some time, and this release broadens gaming options overall.
There were also big announcements from platformers like IGN, which detailed plans for Android expansion. Here’s what’s going on with Android games.
Emulators and just plain fun
PSX4Droid brings classic PlayStation games to your Android, such as Earthworm and Final Fantasy. The emulator costs $5.99 and can save games. Other game options include scaling modes and button overlays, as well as “Wii-mote” support.
The Moron Test has been updated with a new “Food Fight” section. That’s 45 more questions for you to prove your intelligence. Check out new and returning characters, and test your skills on new kinds of problems to solve. The full version is 99 cents.
An update to Super Tumble brings new puzzles to solve. Use gears, floats and other basic principles of physics to clear wooden blocks from the board. A great brain teaser, this $2.99 series is fun for kids and adults.
Bringing another object-guiding accelerometer game to Android is Radio Ball 3D. Navigate your ball of uranium down a tunnel, avoiding objects and people. Pick up power-boosters for extra lives, jump ramps or roll up the side of the tunnel’s curved walls. Try it for about $1.50.
