A special someone calls for a special evening, and a special evening requires a special meal. The Eye Chef Date Night iPhone app ($2.99) offers more than a dozen classy, tasty meals that, if prepared properly, could top any restaurant in the city.
The app’s interface is simple — it consists of one horizontally scrolling list of delicious-looking meals. Among them, grilled beef tenderloin topped with a crab cake, bread pudding, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with a mustard brie sauce.

If you are not drooling yet, you’d better check your pulse.
Tap on one of the meal photos, and up pops a list of ingredients and necessary equipment. When you tap on the “Get Recipe” button, all of the instructions pop up in e-mail format. You can simply follow them and be on your merry way, or you can tweak the recipe a bit, and e-mail your suggestions in the app developer.
While the recipes are elegant, they are all relatively simple to execute.
The app is missing a few things, however. First, for the price, it would be nice if there were a few more recipes, seeing as how there are many, many recipes to be found online. Second, the app could benefit from some video demonstrations. It is always helpful to mimic someone when attempting to cook something new.
