Is that a Sherpa in your pocket or are you just happy it’s free? Seriously, I don’t understand why people give the free PocketSherpa iPhone app a low rating in the iTunes App Store. People, it’s free and it offers travel advice for traveling the world from people who actually live in the area, which is worth at least four stars on its own.
That’s right — it locates where in the world you are and gives you access to local Twitter feeds, Wikitravel, recent news feeds, and even let’s you ask questions of a “localyte”―what the PocketSherpa deems a local. And, it’s not just for where you currently are, but anywhere in the world you want to go!
It’s simply fabulous for a free travel app. You can get a taste of Malaysia, Japan or South Africa right from one place. For instance, I explored El Salvador and found beach tours, volcano tours, cultural experiences and much, much more.
If you are thinking about traveling any time soon, you’ll definitely want to check out this iPhone app and start asking questions of localytes. Don’t forget to help out others by answering questions about places where you are deemed a local. You don’t even have to do research before you travel; you can use it on the go as well. Just make sure you have iPhone service in the country you are traveling to.
