Plants vs. Zombies digs up top ranking in the Appolicious iPhone games of the week

It was a big week in iPhone gaming, with the announcement that  (99 cents) from Didev Studios. The game has two control methods; you can either tilt or use the touch screen to control the snake-like creature in its quest to gobble up yellow orbs and avoid red ones. It also has two game modes, a traditional survival mode, in which you see how long you can go without running into the ever-growing snake, and a 32-level arcade mode. The use of the word ‘Geo’ in the title is interesting, as the game’s basic colors and grid background are very reminiscent of GeoDefense, though you won’t find colorful fireworks in this game. This is by no means a new concept, but it’s a solid iPhone game that offers plenty of fun gaming for only a buck.
