Congratulations, you’re engaged! If you can’t afford the expense of a wedding coordinator to keep you on track for your impending nuptials, you can download one in the App Store. Her name is Vera Wang. Yep, the designer-extraordinaire has brought her wedding insight to the new universal app for iDevice, Vera Wang on Weddings.
For my money, which is nothing because this app is free, the most useful portion of Vera Wang on Weddings is its timeline. After entering your wedding date the app will calculate when exactly you should have specific wedding steps completed. These are displayed on an in-app calendar and you can rely on push notifications for the most important of tasks. If that’s not enough, you can export an event to your regular iPhone calendar. According to the app, I’m off the planning hook until May. Thanks, Vera! Even though some brides will still run their personal timelines differently, the tasks lists are a helpful way to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
Vera Wang has also provided signature styles in the form of videos, pin boards and photo slideshows. Brides can fully research aspects of the wedding such as cakes, flowers and dresses through articles or photo galleries. Of course, the dresses will be restricted to Vera’s own designs, but I bet you’ll still find a few that pique your interest. The glossary in the dress section is especially useful for learning how to describe your perfect wedding-day attire. The real weddings section can provide you with some inspiring photos, but let’s be honest, you’re already using Pinterest for that.
Vera helpfully explains the reasons behind the app upon its first launch, and fans of the designer can follow her blog in app. Considering how much you’re likely spending on the rest of your wedding day, there’s no reason to not install Vera Wang on Weddings, for free.
