PicBounce is a free application for the iPhone with one simple purpose: To quickly post your photos to Facebook and Twitter. There are many apps that perform a similar task, but few that do it as well as this one. However, there are some privacy concerns that you should take into consideration before downloading the app.
The interface is meant to be simple and easy to use. You only have three options after starting the app. You can take a photo, choose a photo from your library, or review your upload history. When taking a photo, you have the same options as the default camera app. You can zoom, toggle the flash, and flip the view to the front facing camera on the iPhone 4.
In the settings menu you can sign into your Facebook and Twitter accounts. You can also set reminders for taking a photo on an hourly or daily basis. This is a surprising additional feature that has some interesting applications.
After you’ve snapped your photo, you have the option to type a caption. Then, all you have to do is tap the upload button. It really is a fast way to simply upload photos without having to log into a bloated application, waiting for your updated social stream to load. Sometimes I just want to quickly send a photo to Facebook without actually having to open the Facebook app.
PicBounce works very well, and probably will remain on my device as a quick photo uploading tool. However, there have been several complaints by users stating that their Facebook accounts have been hacked after using the app. I haven’t had any issues with my Facebook account thus far, but there are enough complaints to warrant some concern and caution before downloading PicBounce. Download it at your own risk.
