Technology has spoiled us — we want our favorite radio programs when we want them, and no other time will do. Luckily, the PodCast Pro iPhone app ($0.99) is available to accommodate all listening whims.
Instead of wasting time and energy moving from one iPhone app to another to access your favorite radio programs and Podcasts, you can simply access, download, and organize them with the PodCast Pro.
The format is simple — open up the app, and you’re given an option to browse, search, or import. If you know what you like, go ahead and search by name. But if you want to see what’s available, go for a browse.
The podcasts are broken down by categories that include arts, business, music, technology, etc. There is something for everyone, to say the least.
Stream and listen to the podcast. Or — if you find one that you really love, and want to listen to again, or share with a friends — you can download it and save it to your queue.
One drawback to the app is that the download process is a bit slow, about a minute. But it isn’t too bad if you’re dying for the last KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic.
Among the more unusual podcasts I can across were GrammarGirl, wherein the hosts promises to teach the rules of English grammar, and StarTalk, which purports to bridge the intersection between pop culture and extraterrestrials. Seems like Charlie Sheen would fit right in with that one.
