For a pickup-line generator, the free iWingman Lite doesn’t have too many slick words for the ladies.
Mostly this app is an ad for the full iWingman edition, which runs for 99 cents. Although iWingman Lite is found in the Education category, it’s probably mislabeled, because there’s nothing educational about this app.
You certainly won’t learn anything from the pickup lines involved, which are delivered in pretty much random order. The app gives the impression that you’re choosing categories for the situation at hand – iWingman Lite is meant to be used on the spot in a bar or other social setting – such as beauty, clothes, personality, etc.
But the lines are pulled from a list at random and have little to do with the categories. Such customizing is left to the paid app. The Lite version spews out a few funny lines (the app probably belongs in the Entertainment category with its costlier incarnation), but most aren’t funny at all. Repetition of the lines makes this even more painful, since the unfunny lines are regurgitated again and again.
So iWingman Lite functions as little more than an ad and wears out its welcome inside of a few minutes. While pickup lines were funny in, say, the third grade, they’ve sort of lost their luster in the modern era, and certainly by the time a man is old enough to own and operate an iPhone.
Even though it’s free, iWingman Lite has little to offer, either in entertainment or education. Save your bandwidth for something with substance.
