NewsRack organizes news, tweets and RSS feeds into a single app

Who said newspapers are dead? They are just getting better organized.

The NewsRack app (formerly Newsstand), at $4.99, might seem pricey at first since much of its content can be found for free from other sources. But the beauty of NewsRack is its ability to consolidate and organize all your news feeds and twitter subscriptions into a single outlet.

Newsstand can be synchronized with your Google Reader account, enabling you to view the same feeds on your desktop and iPhone. You can also subscribe to feeds manually by directly inputting URLs or by selecting feeds from an extensive directory.  Do you have a favorite celebrity or a friend you follow via Twitter? NewsRack also allows you to manage multiple twitter feeds.

There are many handy features on the app, including a ticker that indicates how many items within a certain feed you have left to read. Further, feeds can be easily renamed, reordered or deleted. Finally, if you are feeling a little old school, you can view your news and twitter feeds as newspapers hanging on a newspaper rack, hence the title “NewsRack.”
